Academic Departments

Seven departments, each led by a Head of Department, driving curriculum delivery and learner support.

English Department

Head: Patrick Maleto

Builds learners' competence in language and literature, with a focus on grammar, comprehension, creative writing, and public speaking. Guides students toward strong performance in national examinations while nurturing a love for reading and effective communication.

Kiswahili Department

Head: Emmanuel Sankei

Promotes fluency and appreciation of the national language through the study of lugha and fasihi. Instills cultural pride and strong communication skills, preparing learners for both examinations and everyday use of Kiswahili.

Mathematics Department

Head: John Napua

Develops learners' logical reasoning, problem-solving, and numerical skills. Lays a strong foundation for further studies in STEM fields and supports learners through structured practice, revision, and mentorship.

Sciences Department

Head: Geoffrey Tonui

Covers Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through theory and hands-on laboratory work. Fosters scientific curiosity and inquiry skills, preparing learners for careers in medicine, engineering, and research.

Technical Department

Head: Gladys Makokha

Offers practical, skills-based subjects such as Computer Studies, Agriculture, and other technical/vocational areas. Equips learners with hands-on competencies and exposes them to career pathways beyond the traditional classroom.

Humanities Department

Head: Nancy Saaris

Covers History, Geography, and Religious Education, helping learners understand society, governance, culture, and values. Encourages critical thinking about the world and its institutions.

Guidance & Counselling Department

Head: Sylvia Sadera

Supports learners' emotional, social, and academic wellbeing. Provides guidance, counselling, and a safe space for students to address personal and academic challenges, working closely with teachers and parents.
